The Texas Veterans Parade Medal of Honor Banquet at the Cook Education Center on the campus of Navarro College, honoring Navarro County veterans and all veterans of the United States armed services. The program includes:

  • An overview of the Alamo Letter Society, an organization dedicated to gifting a large bronze plaque of the Col. William Barrett Travis “Victory or Death” letter to each county in Texas. The Navarro County plaque will be dedicated at the Corsicana City Hall following the Parade on Saturday.
  • The presentation of awards, comprising of the Coach Jim Acree Award, the Beauford Jester Award, the Barton Wright Award
    and our highest honor, The Navarro/Garcia Award, presented to Lieutenant Mike Thornton.
  • Remarks by USN Captain Joe Hill (Ret.), Corsicana civic leader and 2024 Texas Veterans Parade Co-Grand Marshal.
  • Conversation with honoree, US Navy Seal and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Lieutenant Michael Thornton.
